Verificador de fotos do passaporte do Nigéria

If you're applying for a Nigeria passport, check the photo requirements before submitting. Our Nigeria Passport Photo Checker compares your image with the listed dimensions and background guidance in your browser. Preview the result for free; the issuing authority makes the final decision.

Nigeria uses 35×45 mm passport photos with a white background. Nigerian passports are issued by the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS). Photos must show the face centered with a neutral expression and no glasses. For US and UK visa applications, the 51×51 mm square format is required. Nigeria recently introduced enhanced e-passports with polycarbonate data pages. That detail matters — most consumer photo apps still ship with generic templates that ignore these specifics. Upload your image above and we'll measure dimensions, sample the background, run face detection, and tell you exactly what to fix before you submit.

Photo checking happens locally in your browser. Sharing or saving a result is a separate action you choose.

Common Nigeria passport rejection reasons

Nigeria-specific: Uploading photos larger than 100 KB — the NIS portal silently rejects them without an error message.
Nigeria-specific: Wearing gele or fila head-ties that shadow the forehead, even when religiously worn.
Nigeria-specific: Off-white walls used as backgrounds — the portal's colour check flags anything above RGB(245,245,245).
Aspect ratio drifted from 35:45 after a careless crop

How to pass the checker

Crop precisely to 35×45 mm
Use our free image cropper to pull the exact 35:45 ratio. Position your eyes near the upper third of the frame and leave roughly 5 mm of headroom above the hair — the proportions Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) expects.

If our checker flags the background, compare it with the selected specification (white). The background remover can help prepare another preview; confirm that edited photos are accepted by the authority.

Verifique a cobertura facial com o verificador
Re-upload the corrected photo and compare the framing with the selected application's guidance. Requirements for head position can vary by application.

Perguntas frequentes

Our checker reviews dimensions, aspect ratio, background, sharpness and face positioning with on-device detection where available. It cannot duplicate Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS)'s review or guarantee acceptance. Always check the official instructions for your application.

The checker accepts JPG, JPEG, PNG and WebP up to 20 MB. Check Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS)'s instructions for the file formats accepted by your specific application.
