The compressor head-to-head
iLoveIMG's compressor is fast and produces respectable results, but it makes every quality decision for you — one click, one output, no control over the final KB size. That's fine when you're shrinking a batch of holiday photos, but it fails the moment a form says "photo must be under 100 KB." In our tests, running the same 4.2 MB phone JPG through iLoveIMG's compressor returned a single ~950 KB result with no way to push further without visible artifacts.
